the {not so perfect} day in the tulips

Today, we headed to the Tulip Farm with friends to enjoy the gorgeous weather. The night before, I was optimistic that I would get some great shots of the kids in this beautiful atmosphere...until morning time came.

As we were getting ready for the day, I soon realized that the day may not go according to planned. I think we ALL woke up on the wrong side of the bed! Unfortunately, I think we're all still a little under the weather with runny noses and coughs...let's just say none of us brought our "A game".

This is how a big chunk of the day went...

In all fairness, I should probably share some of the sweet moments...

God's beauty at its finest.

Hope you all had a blessed {perfect or not} Monday!

  3. OMGoodness!!! I am Laughing Hysterically here! Why? You wonder. We took our kids to the Tulip Farm here (in Tulip city USA mind you) on Saturday and well...there were NO blooming tulips...not one! And Anne Hope screamed and cried the whole time. Gavin joined in at the site of the first bug - seriously a 4 year old boy crying over a bug! at a farm! Oh Dear, you don't know how glad I am to know that somewhere 1/2 way across the USA a friend can "feel our pain."

  7. I'm sorry but I had to laugh out loud when I saw Mikayla's last crying picture. Some how it seems comical when it's not MY kid. hee hee.

So you went with Kim? I didn't know you to knew each other in 'real' life. How cool.

    The tulips are BEAUTIFUL!

  9. I know what it is like to be so excited about going somewhere and then the kids are not in a great mood, how it dampens the mood. You did get some great pictures of the kids. I so want to come to see all of those tulips. Did you get to pick any tulips?
Hope you have a great Monday!

  10. I get it! So many days my daughter doesn't bring her "A" game these days! I guess it's all part of the joys of child raising, huh? :)

  14. I just love those beautiful shots... even the crying ones. I'm pretty sure Mikayla's howling shot had sound because somehow I could hear her through the photo. :) Beautiful photos, darling children. You are blessed indeed!

  17. I have always wanted to get pictures of ER with all the lovely tulips behind her. But you know, I'd probably end up with the first set of pictures being my only ones!

So glad things got better and you got the postcard worthy ones too!
