A little over a month ago, I took a trip to Goodwill to scope out and see if there was anything I could find to create a fun transformation...just because. I have seen some amazing projects floating around blogland where people have taken what seems like trash and turned it into a treasure, so I was a little motivated to try and do the same.
Well, needless to say I'm not sure I have "the eye" for these sort of things, but I did come away with two little goodies that I thought might have potential...and it only cost me $2.00!
It was finally time to tackle this project!!
I was using the container below from the "first round" of organizing her hair accessories, but every time I wanted to get into it, I had to unscrew the lid. Lazy, I know!
Here's the wooden box transformation...
I (my husband) spray painted the box white, and then I used Modge Podge to cover it in some decorative paper. I then wrapped a grosgrain ribbon around it and added some fun embellishments to finish it off!
Now, onto my second transformation...this was another goodie I found at $.99! It's one of those cubes that holds various photos. I didn't quite like the "good times" on it, so...
I covered it in the same decorative paper as the box above and added some clear bubble stickers for a little extra embellishment.
I'm slowly trying to redo Mikayla's room into more a "big girl" room little by little, so this was a fun little project I could do quickly, but still make somewhat of a change.
For more "trash to treasure" projects, head on over to Kimm's at Reinvented. She has an amazing one to share (how does she do it?!), and there are other projects to check out as well.
Obviously I've made a little extra room in the cupboard because guess what?? I'm doing it! I'm signing up to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and I'm super excited! Anyone need to buy some crafting supplies...specifically stamps?
And, lastly...the biggest tackle of all! Getting my son's haircut! I haven't quite been up for the challenge in cutting it myself, so we take him to Little Clippers (and pay entirely too much, by the way!). This last cut was such a nightmare! He cried and fussed the whole time. The gal did the best she could, but I just couldn't wait to get out of there! Maybe this is why we wait so long in between haircuts. But he does look darn cute...
