a series of changes

Updated to add on 5/1/09: This post is part of The Masked Mommy's Beautify Your Home Pow Wow! Go take a peek for more inspiring home decor.

I really like to decorate our home! In fact, over the 4 years we have lived here, the "look" of the house has changed a little at a time. However, the paint color has always stayed the same (except for one room that turned into a baby's room). Most of the changes include rearranging decor or furniture or simply adding a few new touches to the look...and maybe a few extra kids, too. I like simple, but classy and not too eclectic...everything has to "flow".

One room in our house that has gone from boring to elegant to "kid-friendly" is our guest bathroom. Being the smallest room in the house, it's the easiest and quickest to tackle and make a big change. The last time it was redecorated, I had a blast gathering the items needed and was able to make a dramatic and fun change all at once and my husband didn't even have to repaint!

This is what it looked like when we moved in. The wall color was dingy, there were bulbs out in the light fixture, and there was no shower curtain to give it any kind of appeal.

This is the first transformation (are you surprised by the purple?) We painted the walls an oyster color and we were very pleased with the finished look.

And now we have kids...can you tell? I love how bright and fun the room feels. The bath mats are lime green (which you can't see in the picture). Since we have a boy and girl, I thought this would match both of them!
